During the past few months, something different has happened — and I want to share it with you.

Let me start from a very distant galaxy… 🙂

I’m a nerdy guy, and one of my private passions is collecting old and ancient computers ....
it’s called Retrocomputing!

In my collection, I have an Olivetti M24, and as a collector, I feel a responsibility to learn about the history behind the brand, and more importantly, the visionary behind it: Adriano Olivetti.

Adriano Olivetti was a groundbreaking innovator, not only in technology but also in business management, architecture, and social responsibility.
 • In 1959, under his leadership, Olivetti launched the ELEA 9003, the first commercial Italian computer, and one of the first fully transistorized computers in the world, even ahead of IBM’s.
 • His factories were human-centered, designed by top architects like Luigi Figini and Gino Pollini. These spaces were filled with light, gardens, and libraries to inspire workers and respect their dignity.
 • He introduced welfare and community services for employees: free healthcare, education, transportation, cultural activities, and housing. In Ivrea, he built schools, kindergartens, and cooperatives.
 • He believed in participatory management, encouraging employees to be part of decision-making decades before “agile” and “flat hierarchies” became buzzwords.
